Love this place! Thank goodness for a place that's open til 10pm! Our daughter has a late practice and we are always starving after. We love coming to El Patron. Armando was our server tonight and he was so attentive! Our drinks never got totally empty and our food was scrumptious! The grande burrito is SO good- here's my unsolicited opinion: the carne asada is extra $, yes but! Worth every penny! It's so tender and packed with flavor! And the house made green sauce? Absolutely my favorite thing. Oh my goodness is it good! Booth was comfy and spacious (which is great since we are bigger people!) If you are on the fence about trying this place- this is your sign! Please go and give them a try! We can't say enough good things about this place!

This has been our new go to Mexican restaurant for the last 4 months! The Food and Service is always very good. Happy hour in the Cantina is all day - every day, with $4 well drinks, & their well Margarita is just $6. Their version of a Long Island iced tea, "Isla Grande, is $7. Happy hour in the dining room is M~F, 2~6PM. My wife has tried the Street Tacos and Ceviche; they're very good. Unfortunately, I only have the Chicken Flautas because they're my favorite here, but I guess I'll have to try something different sometime! We'll be back, of course!

I absolutely love this restaurant! The staff are all so friendly. And all day happy hour in the bar area! Love it. The restaurant is very cute, love the murals and space! Table Salsa is so fresh! The taco sauce is BOMB. I had the chile Colorado and a margarita flight. Margarita flight was delish and you get to choose 4 of ten flavors. Chile Colorado was super flavorful! Huge plate! Took half the plate home. Homemade tortillas are soooo good. My wife had the nachos and even on happy hour that thing was gigantic! We also tried the carnitas tacos previously and they were amazing!!!

Wanted to try a new to us place and settled on El Patron. It's a big place with the cantina to the right and the restaurant to the left. The cantina is 21 and over which we thought was pretty cool so we could have adult time since we didn't bring the kids. Iris came over and took our drink/appetizer order. She is amazing and was very attentive throughout our dinner. We ordered the shrimp ceviche tostada and the carne asada nachos. Both on the happy hour menu at a fantastic price for how much food and the quality. Both were great. The chips and salsa good as well. We decided to share the carne asada fajitas. Certain pieces of the asada were a bit chewy but the flavor was yummy. Monday night football was on and at half time the DJ played some super good tunes. We will definitely be back!! Thank you Justine and Iris for a great first impression!!

Please ignore all the entitled reviews about this restaurant. You know the ones I'm talking about. The ones who feel like the world is Burger King and they can have everything "their way." Seriously, one star cause you couldn't have chips and salsa? Is that the hill you want to stand on? The food here is great. I had the Nachos, Carne Asada Street Taco and (my personal favorite) Ceviche Tostada. I went during Happy Hour and these 3 items were about $20 total. In my opinion, with prices the way they are everywhere, THATS A DEAL!!! If you're upset that you were expecting restaurant quality at fast food prices, that one is on you, not the food. El Patron has comparable prices to El Torito, Chilis, and many other established Mexican restaurants. I know because I checked online. The staff is always helpful and do their best to make things right. And I will keep coming back here not only for the food but the service as well. So please, give this place a chance. Murrieta needs more restaurants like El Patron.

My husband got a recommendation from his coworker recently to try this place. We visited on a Saturday for lunch (today). The place looks huge from the outside. We walked in and there was an interesting long room. Then we continued to walk into the next area which is a larger waiting area with a hostess desk, a TV and a view of the cooks straight back behind tinted glass. It took a bit for someone to come greet us. Then someone greeted us just to tell us someone else would be here to help us. Then a bit later a hostess came and took us back to a booth. It was huge inside as well. We were sat to the left of the restaurant. There were several TVs mounted and art work/murals on the walls. The hostess came back to give us menus then a waitress came and took our drink order. Then she returned to take our order. It was then time for her break and we had another waitress finish our service. We've never been here so it was encouraging that several people were coming in. The menu looked authentically delicious. We were given colorful tortilla chips and salsa after we sat down. The salsa had a nice kick to it. I had 2 appetizers; the chicken taquitos and the Chevichazo. My husband had menudo and both of my girls had chicken fingers with fries. The food was seasoned well and looks like big portions, but hit the spot. My concern with the Chevichazo was there it had 1 tostada on the bottom and it was soggy because of the amount of ceviche and yummy liquid supporting the ceviche itself. I was expecting fish ceviche, but it was made of shrimp. Not bad at all, but I don't remember asking for it that way. Plus I was charged an extra $2 for it without being told. You definitely couldn't pick up the tostada with the amount of ceviche on it, so I ate it with the tortilla chips that came with the salsa. Plus the plate was very small for the amount of ceviche goodness that was served. Not a bad alternative with the tortilla chips, but a side of tostadas may have been a better pairing. Regardless, we left satisfied. There was a family bathroom in what looked like an odd location because it opened up to customers. Usually bathrooms are off to the side, but it was interesting placement. It was a nice bathroom because it reminds you of a bathroom in your home. We definitely got the vibe that we were at home at El Patron! Two customers were celebrating a birthday so some of a staff came and sang a quick birthday chant for them. My husband said his menudo was tasty. My girls enjoyed the chicken fingers and I finished both of my appetizers. Our meal was $88, including the tip. The waitresses were really nice and attentive. We will definitely return to try other menu items as well as the Sunday brunch.

Finally went here now that's it's been a few months open to give it a try. Walked inside and was greeted right away with smiley faces from the hostesses. Restaurant is open space with tall ceilings. Cantina is to the right where there is happy hour all day. To your left are the booths and tables. Menu had some really unique options which definitely kept me intrigued on what to order. Prices were average and decided to have my meal with a margarita. Waitress was very friendly and prompt with food and drinks. 1st margarita was perfect! 2nd overdone with tequila hence the one star knocked off couldn't even sip it. Other then that food was delicious and well portioned! Yum yum! I'm definitely going to give this one a go. See you next time!
